Extend your Theater Audio to your Bathroom

Movie time interruptions always seem to come at the worst time. Someone will ask to pause the movie, as they go to the restroom, while everyone else sits awkwardly waiting for them to return. With this simple trick, I’ll show you how your guests can come and go as they please, without missing any of the movie.

You can extend the audio of your home theater into your bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, or anywhere else in your house, using a Bluetooth speaker. You’ll be able to go to the restroom and continue to hear all of the action, through your additional speaker.

How to setup Bluetooth Audio Transmission on your A/V Reciever

In order to set this up, you’ll need a receiver that has “Bluetooth Audio Transmission”. This term might vary from brand to brand, but essentially you want to make sure your receiver can send your audio out via Bluetooth.

On your receiver remote, open your settings menu and navigate to the Bluetooth menu. Look for the transmitter setting and turn it on. Search for available Bluetooth devices and select your speaker. Once it has paired, your receiver will be playing the same audio through your theater speakers and your additional Bluetooth speaker.

Place that speaker in the desired room and adjust the volume level until it sounds correct. If your bathroom is adjacent to your theater room, make sure the audio on the Bluetooth speaker cannot be heard from the main room.

Now anyone can take a break from the movie, without asking to pause it while they’re gone. This is a simple way to save the movie experience and spare your guests from awkward pauses.
